On a recent appearance on WBBM radio, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said that parents must be more involved with getting their children to attend school.  He argues that higher attendance implies greater school funding and better quality education. 

Jackson noted that many parents are young and do not care or know about the importance of a good education.  He argued that Chicago City Schools lost $150M last year due to poor attendance and that much of these funds can be earned if parents are more involved.
