According to Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Cornel West debates Michael Eric Dyson on his new CD over the use of the N-word.  Additionally, West engages in discussion, backed by music, of the issues of our day.

“Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations” is the title of the CD.  West uses artists such as Talib Kweli, Andre 3000 and KRS-One to make his point.  The prior CD “Sketches of My Culture”, released in 2001 was harshly criticized by then Harvard President Lawrence Summers.  This led to Cornel West leaving Harvard for Princeton and was found to reflect racism in the presidency of Harvard University.

Dr. Boyce Watkins, a Finance Professor at Syracuse University, gives credit to the work of West, stating “This work is creative and powerful, and it shows the need for black scholars to stop sitting in the offices writing research papers that no one ever reads.”
