![]() Irv Gotti Lets it all Hang Loose in an Interview with Vibe about his new Reality Show
In a recent interview with Vibe Irv Gotti overseer of one of the most successful recording labels Murder Inc let loose about his open relationship with his wife, regaining his stature in the hip hop industry and becoming a new reality star. Anyone who watches his highly anticipated show Gotti’s Way now knows Irv on a more personal level as a family man and a business man, being exposed to the music moguls more vulnerable side. When asked about his reasoning to do the show Irv explained It came about with Cris Abrego, the president and CEO of 51 Minds Entertainment who contacted Irv after his cover story on The Source. Irv explains “He read the article and he thought [my comeback would] be a great story to follow me around. At first I was like, "Nah, I don't wanna be no reality TV star." But he stayed on me for like two, three months, just telling me, "It's gonna be a good show" and "You can executive produce the show. We're not trying to clown you or anything, we want it to be real." And real is exactly what it is with his open relationship to his wife on full display for the world to see Irv holds nothing back and gives his viewers and fans a real glimpse inside his life. Irv reveals that the real motivation behind the show came from him and his wife Deb’s relationship. “If she sees me talking to a girl on the show, it ain't nothing that she don't know, you know what I'm saying? So, it's all good. But we've gotten to that place - me and Deb's relationship is unique, and it is very special to both of us. We are very cool but yet and still, I'm separated from her. Abrego wanted to shoot the show more when he seen that!” Gotti explains in a way that only he can. But the show doesn’t just focus on his personal life it shows how Gotti struggles to regain his mojo in the hip hop industry and pick up where he left off. With major hit makers such as Ja Rule and Vanessa Carlton Irv is overly confident that Murder Inc will not only make a comeback but will place its mark on what music really is. He states “It's like, yo, I'm on the right path back to where I need to be. If I looked at where I was two years ago, my mind was scrambling, like, Yo, what the fuck is gonna happen? So I'm already winning. It doesn't even matter.” And that in my opinion is a comeback within itself!
