Democrat contenders Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are currently in conflict over their positions on Iraq and Iran. In an op-ed in the New Hampshire Union Leader, Obama criticized those who voted to name the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization. According to USATODAY.com he felt it “opened the door” to military action involving Iran.

Obama told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that Clinton’s judgment was flawed on Iraq. [She has] tried to massage the past a little bit, suggesting that it was a vote for inspectors. I think everybody at the time, including you and the media and the American people, understood this was a vote for war." With the caucuses soon approaching, USATODAY.com notes that Odama has moved into aggressive phase for his campaign that places an emphasis on judgment. “We want to make sure that voters understand that on big issues like the decision to go into the war in Iraq, “he said, “I have real differences with the other candidates and that reflects on my judgment."

Clinton’s stance on the intention of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is that by authorizing it, the United States has greater leverage and resources available to ease Iran into diplomatic negotiations. In an interview with MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann, she stated that the president has “absolutely no authority to take any action against Iran.”  Clinton’s campaign also told the Huffington Post, that Obama was absent from the senate to vote the Iran issue, and failed to weigh in before hand.
