Oprah Winfrey plans to enlighten American
audiences on what it is like to be gay in While on the show, the prince will
discuss what it is like to be a gay activist in a country where
homosexuality is considered a crime.
If one is suspected of being gay, they face up to 10 years in
prison under a law that prohibits sex “against the order of nature.” He will explain how the law is rarely
enforced and how it is used as bribery.
Those that do not pay are often beaten and humiliated by the
police. Gohil descends from royal rulers of the
western part of the country.
Unfortunately, after discussing his sexuality in the media, his family
publicly disowned him. The prince stated, “I had to deal with
opposition from my family and locals of Rajpipla (where he grew up) who
felt I was involved in activities that are unsuitable in society.” Though society disapproves of his
lifestyle, he has not apologized for his sexuality.
Gohil devotes time promoting bisexual artists and raising
awareness about HIV and AIDS. He previously said, “Gays are talented,
creative. Imagine a world
