Queen Latifah Speaks out against Misogyny

Taking a stand against offensive comments and misogyny in the media, rapper/actress Queen Latifah, says that black communities should have addressed these issues long before former-shock jock, Don Imus’s now infamous “nappy-headed hoes” comment.

In a statement to the New York Daily News, Latifah said, "It's a little late to say, 'Stop saying n-----, the whole Imus thing was a big sandbag in a way because he's not saying anything he didn't say a long time ago...." She also wonders why, activists did not speak out against offensive hip-hop lyrics until the aftermath of the Imus incident, saying,

"You didn't pressure any radio stations to stop playing music that had misogynist lyrics or had vulgarities in them.”
