Janet Jackson content with Nature of Her Relationship

Amid discussing her upcoming book on weight gains and losses, Janet Jackson also spoke of rumors about possibly tying the knot with her current beau, music producer Jermaine Dupri.

“I pray this doesn’t bite me in the butt … But they say the third time is a charm,” the twice-divorced Jackson said.

Though the couple has been dodging questions of marriage for a couple  of years now, OK Magazine reports the couple will eventually plan to meet at the alter.  But if you ask Jackson, with or without an official ceremony, she and Dupri are tight like glue.

"I don't need a piece of paper to validate what we have," Janet told the TV show “Extra” at the premiere of her new film, Why Did I Get Married?. "But that's just me."

The singer/actress says however, that if they do marry she would definitely keep in line with traditional standards and take Dupri’s last name, joking that they would both then have the initials: "J.D."

According to SFGate.com back in August Jackson and Dupri were reported to have married in front of friends and family in an undisclosed location.  But Dupri has denied it.

"When Janet and I get married, everybody will know”, said Dupri. “ It's not something I want to keep a secret. I'm going to promote it like a party."
