Yvette Carnell: President Obama Says He’s Kept His Promises, I Disagree

During his trek through Iowa, Republican candidate Mitt Romney repeatedly needled President Obama for failing to keep his campaignPresident Obama promises. Now, the Obama campaign has responded with a video outlining the promises candidate Obama made and the ones President Obama kept.

On the issue of promises kept, Obama is both right and wrong. He’s kept his promises to some while simultaneously betraying his commitment to others.

At the behest of gay rights activists, Obama repealed DADT. And at the encouragement of public opinion, President Obama is reducing our footprint in Iraq, even though some of our U.S. troops are being replaced by paid mercenaries.

The key question, though, isn’t whether President Obama has worked to keep his promises, but whether he’s been effective. Yes, President Obama worked to overhaul health care, but he wasted an entire year and the bulk of his political capital on a tepid health care bill. And in recent months, the Obama administration has been repealing parts of the very same health care law it passed. For example, the long term health insurance plan was dropped from the health care law back in October.

In his Iowa win speech, candidate Obama said, “I’ll be a President who finally makes health care affordable and available to every single American”.  We’ll see. But thus far, it doesn’t appear as if Obamacare is the law to make that happen. It may be a bill that another, much bolder, Democratic President can use as a stepping stone to make health care affordable, but it’s certainly not the end game.

And Obama did give middle class and working people a tax cut, but he gave even more in the way of bailouts to special interest groups and bankers. So, there’s also the question of proportionality.  It’s not just a question of whether Obama worked to fulfill some of his promises, but whether or not he was effective and whether or not he made the people who voted for him a priority over the corporations and lobbyists. Judged by that criterion, I believe President Obama’s first term has been an epic fail

All I can muster is “Wow!”

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_DUHODVRFQY7SGISRJE5TZWXZAI K2007

Pres O may not have kept all his promises (and most of  that has to do with the Republicans not wanting to work with an AA president , and has refused to approve any legislation that would put this country in a better position; even if it’s legislation they once supported).

What do you possibly think a Republican president would do for poor/middle class society?  After-all they have demonstrated time and time again, they support the RICH .

  • Dentonlinda40

It’s easy to talk from the cheap seats. No president will ever be perfect, or get it all right all of the time. When you find one please share.

    • Marjani

Amen. Talking from the cheap seats is what most of these folks are doing these days. Yet those who are running off the most at the mouth couldn’t do any better and wouldn’t want his job if they thought they could.

  • Honeegrrl

It’s easy for her to say.

    • Marjani

      Ain’t that the truth?

  • Omegawife1

And WOW, again. Hell did you really think the Republicans were going to  let President Obama get everything he wanted? If so, you are dreaming. You are writing this article so I now that there is some intelligence somewhere in that head of yours. Come on now, let’s be fair. Hell I was surprised he got as much as he did done in his first four years. So tell me, who do we vote for, the Republicans, who wouldn’t give a dam whether or not we even breathe.

  • http://twitter.com/ShanaJuly ShanaJuly

What is truly amazing to me is the truly intellectual laziness coming from people like this lady.  Where were they when Mitch McConnell boldly stated his number one priority was to make PBO a one termer?  John Boehner said the same thing.

So, he was supposed to magically come in and wave his dictator’s wand and get everything he promised on the campaign trail.  Have you listened to the bozos in the republican party’s promises?  They are making all kinds of outrageous promises that either they know they cannot deliver upon or they are so incompetent that they don’t know any better.  I don’t recall PBO saying the crazy things these republicans are saying.

He promised to closed Gitmo but guess what??? The republicans BLOCKED HIM.

Repeat:  REPUBLICANS BLOCKED HIM AND BLUE DAWGS

Yvette you really need to get out more…

    • Beverly Brewer

Shana you said it all in the first statement “Mitch McConnell boldly stated his number one priority was to make PBO a one termer?  John Boehner said the same thing.

These two need to be thrown off the train and the congress derailed at how they worked against the President……..!

    • Chamberslee

That is the problem” He has not ATTEMPTED to do anything to address some of the most egregious policies affecting blacks, for fear of tarnishing his legacy.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_C4M2HTK5CB22N4A7UQJFD7JPCI Christopher

For you and Michael D:  WHERE ARE THE VOTES IN CONGRESS TO GET WHAT YOU WANT?  Presidents aren’t Kings.  Wishing doesn’t make it so.

  • Accra0306

I agree with your disagreement.  As far as Black people are concerned, this man has been a truly “epic failure.”  We thought we were supporting and voting for someone who would finally take our concerns seriously, who understood our historical and current issues, who would not necessarily prioritize our problems, but at least give them a fair hearing.  Instead, what we got is a weak-kneed, compromiser and appeaser, who insists that Black people have no special claim on him or America; while, as you correctly note, he seems to have time and concern for every other “special interest group”.

To his indefatigable apoligizers:  This man has lied to you, continues to lie to you, and if he is re-elected, you can just get ready.  He may actually join the Republicans in repealing Civil Rights laws, dismantling every aspect of Johnson’s “Great Society”, and FDR’s “Neal Deal.”  Then maybe you will get the message.

    • Beverly Brewer

You really need to get out more and check your facts………..!!!!! So you want these repugs to run this country……..!!!!!!

    • DeeCee

Someone once said “you can have your own opinion, but you can’t have your own facts”. Maybe if Ms. Carnell had sought out the latter before writing this article, she would have had more credibility with me. As far as Obama being an “epic fail” for Black people, I would like to know your definition of success. No, he hasn’t come out and said I’m proposing this and that program just for Black people”, nor should he since Americans of all races and classes voted for him. If you want a savior, I suggest you get on your knees and stay there! If you want a president, and understand his job and that of the Congress, that’s another thing.

      • Chamberslee

It is unbelievable how willing some blacks are to make excuses for Obama. If he were not black, I do not believe there would be so many black apologists. If Obama had make a few attempts to address the most egregious policies that affect, primarily, black people, even if he had failed, I do not believe there would be such hard feelings toward him for the black community.

        • Anonymous

Chamberslee: I agree with Yvette’s factual critique of the Obama Presidency.
Chamberslee: Everyone of the people who have commented on Yvette’s article  fail to realize the fact, that your real government consists of unelected bankers and corporate special interests.

Both Obama and Bush bailed out the banks on Wall Street then rewarded said banks with more funds for their egregious crimes against the American people while the banks sat on their behinds and made it more difficult for the public to obtain said loans.

The banks on Wall Street love Barack Obama, and don’t be misled by Wall Street & Obama’s “Wag The Dog Diversionary” strategy.

The entire office of the President has been usurped for at least 2 decades and the office of President has long been ceremonial, if not entirely theatrical.
Chamberslee: The corporate-financier agenda transcends presidencies. From the bombastic Reagan to the officious Obama, US foreign and domestic policy has moved in  a continuously linear direction toward increasing corporate financial monopolies and eroding the role of sovereignty of the U.S. Constitution and the people who are supposed to execute it.

Chamberslee: Who amongst Obama’s administration can we honestly presume has the people’s or even Ameirca’s best interests at heart? Goldman Sachs bankers? JP Morgan Chase bankers? Corrupt bankers from Wells Fargo? Bank of America? Corporate lobbyists? A top CEO from GE?

Chamberslee, Yvette failed to point out the fact that these are the same banking, corprate, and political interests that guided the agenda under BUSH, CLINTON, BUSH Sr., Reagan and so on.
This is where the vast majoirty of people commenting on this site fail to comprehend and understand the how the system operates and functions. All of the above Presidents including Obama serves at the behest of the well heeled corporate special interests. Now if anyone wants to debate the previous mentioned facts then let the games begin.

Dailey, the Chicago political hustler was brought into the WH to sure-up the corporate campaign contributions for Obama’s reelection run.
Dailey comes from one of the most nortorious corrupt political families in the USA.

While their maybe some debate over which US President was in fact the last “real” President who exercised an agenda it genuinely could claim ownership over, there is no doubt that over the last two decades the SAME corporate interests have beeb steering America’s people and their destiny with but the VENEER of ” democracy.” FDR and JFK where the last US Presidents to have a bona-fide agenda and they were born into and part of the ONE PERCENT CLASS. You could make the argument that LBJ made it into the ONE PERCENT CLASS, but he was not born into said class.

For the first three years of his term centrist Obama has governed like Calvin Coolidge, and he  decided to move a little to the left of center in August, 2011 because of declining poll numbers, and acute problems within his base.

Many Black people voted for Obama because of racial pride even though he had a paper thin resume and lack of experience and qualifications. Now, a lot of Black people who support Obama do not support his policies but they have no where to go. The Democrats understand the fact that Black people have no where to go so therefore they can always take our support and votes for granted.
          .
So Chamberslee, honestly were Black people duped and tricked by the fats cats on Madison Avenue who neatly packaged the Obama brand, who used a clever marketing strategy in selling him to the American public? Did the folks on Madison Avenue know that Black Americans where starved for a type of national leader?  The folks on Madison Avenue knew  that Obama didn’t have to anything for Black folks to broker any of that hard earned 95 % Black vote because Black folks would be so fascinated with having a Black family in the White House. Chamberslee, what does fascination buy you at the gas  pump, or the empolyment line or unemployment line, racial achivement gap, increased cost of college tuition, massive Black incarceration rates, poor health care services, lack of a viable infrastructure, racist crimes so forth and so on?

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would be proud of the smybolism of a Black President but he would be devastated,+ horrifed of the recalcitrance of the Obama adminstration to the working poor, poor, middle class Americans, and the warmonerging imperalistic nature of the Obama Presidency.

The fate of US Presidents is always determined by the state of the economy and Obama was dealth a bad hand by Geo W. Bush and Obama played his hand poorly.

      • Chamberslee

Why do you believe he is not black? Are you unwilling to acknowledge that there are black people with such strong feelings toward Obama?

      • Independent

Its so foolish to think that anyone who opposes Obama has to be a white right wing tea party bigot.  I’m black & I am not a bigot & I think that everything BevONixon has posted is right on point.  I also agree w. Ms. Carnell.  Black ppl have become so wrapped up in the emotion of seeing someone black in the WH  that we refuse to see the handwriting on the wall when it comes to this guy.  He’s no different than white presidents that came before him.  He continues the same egregious harmful policies of this country, only w. a black face.

You said a mouthful & I totally agree!  We r being totally bamboozled by this guy.  Just because he has a black face we blindly support everything he does to our own detriment.  I’m no fan of either the Democrats or Republicans.  Neither of the two groups like us or respect us, & I have absolutely no faith that our best interests will ever be served by either group.  All they want is our votes, then they summarily diss us & ignore us after they get it, & its been no different w. a black president.

  • Lesliefranklin1

The Republican party deeply appreciates this kind of skewed and flawed analysis concerning the Obama administration. The RNC couldn’t have done a better job of distorting the facts!

  • Beverly Brewer

I agree….I lived through 8 years of lies from the Bush camp some of thoses lies they have now admitted….we all know the congress has tried on every hand to make President Obama fail even got us downgraded……..No one person is perfect and I will not be voting for Mitt Romney because I just don’t trust him nor his views……… The world is not black and white (Romney world is just white) we live in a diverse country with diverse thinkers….. I like President Obama and will vote for him again….if I lived through 8 years of the Bushes then I can lived through eight years of President Obama this is not a vote against him because of his policies this is a vote against having a “Black Family” in the Whitehouse yes I said it and I mean….it….!  I would rather have a Native American, the first people that lived in American rather than a Mormon in the White House………..! I often wonder why he (Romney) is trying so hard to be the President what is his agenda and no one is asking because he never states what his policy nor agenda is and no one is asking him the tough question either!!!!  I don’t like him and will never vote for him…….! Talk is cheap I would like to know more about him yet he would never get my vote…..!!!

Bev: Your vote means nothing. As long as we grasp to the illusion that through the futile exercise of elections we are somehow “in control,” it will remain this way perpetually.
The corporate-financier interests are the people who run this country and they my good sister resides in both parties whose interests will be served regardless of party affiliation..
Romney is trying so hard to be President because the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) want to control the WH to further broker their own self- interests.

I believe that Mormonism is a cult and they practiced 150 years of blind naked white supremacy and I do not believe that you get all racist venom out of your DNA with the swipe of a pen.( 1978)

Some scholars believe that the Black Olmec’s who are cousins to the Toltecs and Aztecs were the first indigenous people to inhabit the America’s. You may visit their monuments and Pyramids in the Southern Yucatan and in other parts of central America. It must be said that the Olmec’s built their Pyramids on the same style as the Nubians in the ancient kingdom of Nubia, which is present day Sudan.
As a matter of fact there are more Pyramids in the Sudan than thre are in Egypt/Kemet and many of the artifacts and Pyramids were destroyed by the Arabs,French, Americans, and Brits when they built the Aswan Dam/Canal.
Further it is believed that Olmec’s came from so-called West Africa.

My elementary school principal’s name was John Brewer and he and his twin brother James were outstanding athletes for West Virginia State College which used to be an HBCU until it was taken over by whites.

    Word!

  • Chamberslee

So do we excuse President George W. Bush for his seemingly lack of concern for poor people, especially poor black people, just mark it off as another example of not being perfect? Look, Obama has had a great deal of opposition from the Republican controlled congress, which makes an incredibly difficult job nearly impossible to do. But he chose to be president–his choice–and he made promises that he has since backed away from. Most important, he has not addressed generational issues affecting poor communities, most of which are heavily populated by people of color. He has capitulated on important issues that left working class families vulnerable and the poor with with where to turn. Yes, we are talking from the cheap seats, but that does not make our concerns any less valid.

    • Anonymous

Very well said! I would like to see you respond to my above detailed critique of the Obama Presidency?

    • Independent

Ur posts r right on point!  In the past, we as black ppl have always criticized & reprimanded those who held the office of president, but now that there’s someone w. a black face in the WH he’s supposed to be beyond reproach or criticism. I’m not with it! Its hypocritical & its damaging to us as a ppl to keep quiet / not speak out at this time, especially when we’re hurting so much.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Olin-Ross/546574576 Olin Ross

No he didn’t accomplished some of the promises he made…He was unable to do so because of those dingbat republicans and tea baggers…They obstruct most of his programs and the ones they allowed to passed were water down due to the compromising he had to do with them…..Some of his programs were even hijacked by them….. They tried to stop every bills that he OKed even some they had written…..A record number of filibusters was set by the senate under Obama presidency……….

  • Hardarbrown17

I would suggest that you take a college course called American Government. Everthing that the President tried to pass the House voted down unless it benefited the rich. Anyone with just plain common sense and that has LIVED long enough, knows that no one person in office can do all that they want too. The condition of this country was bad when Mr. Obama took office. It would be immpossible to change the situation in 8 years under positive conditions from the House, much less the negative conditions that now exist. What you need to worry about is Social Darwinsm, Eugenics, and the government that was established under Mr. Reagan which is anti-union, anti-social welfare and State control.

  • David2001

I didn’t read anything inaccurate about what the writer wrote. I realize this president has not been allowed to govern by obstructionist but he is not above criticism. The main fault of President Obama was not recognizing sooner that the republicans weren’t just kidding when they said they wanted to see him fail. As some critics of the republicans put it “they (republicans) are willing to sink the ship (America) to drown the captain (Obama)”. President Obama tried and failed to compromise and cave in to the people that were responsible for putting this country in the economic mess it’s in. Something IMO he should have never done. All the republicans could do was bring the same failed policies back to the table and be obstructionist. I will still vote for President Obama in 2012 not because he’s a great successful leader but because he’s the person that will do the least amount of damage to this country. Sad that it always seems to come down to the lesser evil when voting. I’ll probably be crucified for saying this but President Obama is NOT a
strong leader. I don’t think a strong leader that’s BLACK could have
ever gotten elected, white Americans would have been too threaten to vote for someone like that. Obama 2012

  • JanetL

So Yevette Carnell thinks “Saving 44,000 American Lives”due to the lack of Healt Insurance is insignificant?  Clearly this person does not understand the devestating Impact has on the lives of Ordinary Americans.

    Let’s School you Ms. Carnell

Rather than just writing a column giving us your thoughtless, non-researched, and off the top of your head opinions, perhaps it would be good once in a while to pick up an Authority on the issues for which you write about.

Less begin with the “Harvard Review” that states approxmately 44,000 Americans Die every Year because they have No Access to health Care.

Perhaps you feel the year was watsted On our President Trying to Ensure that these and other Americans Don’t Die, is umimportant since you are not affected and apparently non-of your family members or Friends.

It’s just amazing that Americans like you don’t understand that lack of Access to Health Insurance is Killing Thousands of Americans daily from being Denied for Pre-Existing Conditions, Age, Gender, most Health Insurers still Use Gender, particularly Women to Deny or Limit Women access to Health Insurance.  Thousands are simply “DROPPED” by their Insurer’s after having paid for years for the insurance, it’s called a Rescission.

I am just amazed at how easily you and Republicans can just Gloss over the fact that Our President Place saving American Lives over other Political Agendas.

It’s time America wakes up and understand the Need to Insure All Americans to prevent 44,000 American Deaths yes right here in the old USA.

You also don’t seem to recognize and the Administration doesn’t mention it enough that Our President lead the Charge to Give “Women Equal Pay”  remember the Lilly Ledbetter Act, which I’m Betting you have absolutely no idea about that law. Right?

It’s irresponsible for these blogs to give people such as yourself free reign to write anything in the absence of research and getting the facts.  But than again you Pundits wouldn’t get good press.

The Name of the Bill is NOT OBAMA CARE< get the name right you just fell into the Republican Talking Points, "Its the Affordable Health Care Act.

Yes, it's the law whether you want to recognize it or not.  The only issue facing the courts is whether citizens should pay for their health insurance or leave that burden on the rest of us as they already do when they run to the emergency rooms, fail to buy health insurance and leave that bill to us.

Bottom line the Affordable Health Care Act Stands and is already doing a great job getting folk insured who would not have been able to buy insurance before.

You just bought into the Republicans Myth that The Affordable Health Care Act is not really the Law, well sister it is and no amount of you telling readers, which is irresponsible that it's not and that some future President will Pass health care is just one BIG LIE

Finally Mr. Carnell, be responsible because you are dissimatening information to thousands of folk, get the FACTS, which you failed to do in this column.

President Obama did not give the Bail-Outs to Bankers and others President Bush and Henry Paulson did that long before President Obama was sworn in as President.  They gave away $7000 Billion dollars with no strings attached.  Our President Corrected that but apparently you don't take time to get the facts, seems you are a Republicans since you keep giving us their Talking Points when you write your column.

Our President has to fight tooth and nail because of the color of his skin and the Republicans hatred toward yes a man with your skin color, simple hate that he and his family occupy the White House.  Republicans said from day one their Number One Gold is to make President Obama a 1 term President and it seems you agree and are writing columns to help them do just that.

But you know Praise be to God because he's still in and has always been in control and no matter the chatter, the Revolt, the Blocking of Congress by the minority, the Blocking or those not rich to Vote, Corruption, joy will come in the morning.

Our President is the only President in History who has been in Office for one term and for the entire 3 years had Republicans Block every move he makes even at the Espense of American Lives, Jobs, Homeless, folk who can't  put food on the table, No gas for the car, can't pay the bills, Republicans have thrown every obstacle never used in the History of Any Congress at our President, yet he keeps pushing implementing anything he can without their help

Name one President in history who has been Challenged as this One Black President?

Try getting the facts, you have influence on others, use it responsibly.

I completely understood/understand where she’s coming from. Even though, more than likely we all know that the Repubs don’t have a chance at defeating Pres. Obama in 2012. But, Ron Paul is the only opposition to this Global agenda, in contrast to the rest of both political (dems & repubs) parties. A Ron Paul vs Pres Obama debate will be a game changer in america’s domestic and foreign politics. The world will hear questions that are never asked on purpose by moderators, interviewers, etc.. So, the question will be; How would the fervent Obama supporter respond if he becomes politically naked (exposed)?
Use racism as a ploy? That excuse will be null and void at this juncture in our existence in this country as african americans, as it relates to our plight for equilibrium since 1865 (The Emancipation).Do we see any of these so called patriotic advocates/politicians out in droves protesting and marching against black on black crimes?HELL NO!
So lets stop waisting our time trying to prove the majorty of americans are racists; they are and guess what?
THEY’RE NOT GONNA CHANGE, SO LETS MOVE ON PEOPLE! I’m writing this with great discern & disgust, due to the fact I was duped into believing he (Pres. Obama) was totally different from any other politician in the U.S. I voted for him, campaigned for him, convinced 1st time voters to support him etc. Now I feel I’m partly guilty for his deceitful actions here and abroad.Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, JFK, Robert Kennedy, Patrice Lumumba, Che Guevara, Thomas Sankara, Mumar Ghaddafi etc; all gave a powerful recalcitrant speech and showed resistance towards Global bank elitism. All of them had someting in common; they suffered character assisinations from the orchestrated mainstream media before actually being assasinated. For speaking and acting out for the truth. Ron Paul is walking on shaky grounds by attacking the Fed Reserve, Pentagon, USA foreign policy/agenda, Corporations etc. A true leader will die for what they believe in against all odds.
He’s wealthy before he became Pres. Why would a rich black/white man give up a majority of his wealth for the least of these through leglislative doctrines? He will not bcs he aint Jesus, but claims he know Jesus. If we continue trusting rich people to care about our plight and change the playing board toward fairness;we desrve anything we get!

Safe seats in Congress allow the Republicans a base to limit what the President can propose.  It’s not just about Barack Obama and the Presidency.  Don’t forget a Republican dominated Supreme Court that can rule initiatives like health care reform unconstitutional.  Then there’s the Fox-centered conservative media echo chamber on tv and radio.

        Hey Chris,

I agree with what your saying, but at the end of the day; we’re stuck with the same ol BS from either side. The only option we have is choose the lesser of the 2 evils. Depending entirely on how fast one chooses to go hell in a handbasket.

I am amazed he was able to get anything done with the jerks he has to deal with. No he did not do everything for everyone that voted for him, but I would say he is doing a good job. In the next term we can expect much bigger things from him and I don’t think we will be dissapointed.

You know it sickens me everytime I read about AA’s saying what President Obama hasn’t done for them.  FOR REAL!!!  Do you know if he did things only for AA’s he would be considered a racist and talks of impeaching him.  Americans voted for him not just AA’s and I guess me and a few people on this post watch the news, read the newspaper or go on the internet.  The Republicans and many of the Democrats HATE that an AA President is in the white house.  Has anyone ever heard anything about the Presidents before him being a one term President, I know I didn’t.  People want to stay home and not vote this term, do that and see how bad it will be for AA’s if a Republican becomes President.

    • Chamberslee

I do not believe anyone is saying that Obama should make special exceptions for black people. We are saying that he has not even attempted to make an argument for ending the most egregious policies that have contributed to the destruction of many black communities. Without policy reform, future generations will continue to fall further behind. Most important, he ran on the promise that he would address those issues affecting poor people, and he has rarely uttered the words poor people: It most talks about middle class America.
He should not focus only on black peoples’ issues. Instead, he should make a clear case for policy reform that would import the lives of ALL poor people, particularly black people.

The notice that a one size fits all solution will have a beneficial impact on black communities is wrong.  Black people face a unique set of challenges compared to white people and even other racial minorities. If he were intellectually honest, he would address the issues directly impacting blacks while still addressing concerns that affect the whole citizenry.

He does not have to neglect one group for the other.

      JanetL,

I’m sorry, he’s no different than his predecesors, besides being considered a black man. Democrats & Republicans are all the same. The only difference is, Democrats keep us down with a boot on our necks, with a smile on their face. Republicans are out front with their intentions without sugarcoating it. My contention is this; if we don’t make this man (pres. BO) & all political affiliations fight and respect our votes. Why vote at all? We’re damned if we do, damned if we don’t. Latinos have replaced our (African americans) gravitos, they are the new poltical game changers, whether we like it or not.
Every candidate across this country know they will tilt the scale in every sort of election going forward.
Majority of them are taking spanish lessons, trying to become bilingual so they can appeal to the new secondary majority.

      WAKE UP!

Please JanetL, research! research! research! look behind the curtains of these staged acts.
Follow the money trail; Do you think he or any previous president will strive to be the commander in chief of this country if the salary paid only $25k a year, inclusive all paid living and traveling expenses?

      HELL NO!

Tell him to give up some of his salary and place it back into the economy since he care so much about you and I and the condition of this counrty.

Simply put, It’s all about Money & Power!

To hell with all of them!

You want real change? Let us stop debating and start uniting.

The challenges the President has is somewhat like attempting to get a car out of a ditch by hooking a chain to it from the front. At the same time, there is another chain-(Congress)- attached to the rear preventing any movement. It is a job any politician would have difficulty in being successful. I would not wish the challenge upon anyone in this social climate. Let us pray he can maintain his health and survives.

As if the Republicans didn’t move heaven and earth trying to block EVERYTHING.  Presidents aren’t Kings.  Get a clue.

  • Drj

You arm chair philosophers are very quick to criticize the efforts of our President for trying to right a ship (U.S. Government) that has been sinking for years. If you think you can do a better job, make a run for the office yourself.  Stop trying to make a name for yourself by criticizing the efforts of President instead of applauding his efforts.  He has enough opposition from the no good Republican Party whose stated primary goal is to make him a one term president at any cost to the american people.  Wake up Black People!!!!

  • Rjames9

Some of your judgement of what The President accomplished or didn’t get done iis not accurate without you stating why those issues were not accomplished. Some you know what the only cause of failure. You should at least be fair and I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you because You got my 100% belief that you are a very intelligent   woman and I respect that. You are angry with that brother and he needs your support. Yes you,and he needs your spirit on a mission for Americans because I believe you would get the job done and add to his list of successes. Your partner there with you,Mr Smiley, and Mr West should be right there with him getting something done for Americans and adding to that success list.. Thats purpose, that helps your people, thats the spirit of a true American. Some of the junk published on this page is pure hate and jealousy among our people and we need to give it up and really get civilized I’ve been a proud black man for 67 years and this is the first time I have been ashamed of my people. All that education wasted for petty grievences.. HELP THE BROTHER,,WHAT THE HELL YOU GOT TO LOOSE.

  • rasil

You are another lost idiot.  Guess you do not know how to process what you observe.  Seek medical help please.  Thank you.

  • Darrylabrams

Here is the problem with some black folks who choose to ignore the real problems that delay success 4 the American population. You waste your time & the readers looking to blame the Obama Administration for having to compromise to get things accomplished which by the way has been more than any President in US history but self hate & fear won’t allow you admit it. If you wanna make a real difference, point your finger at the GOP & all the racist who’s really to blame. Don’t let your fear & self hate cause a divide cause at the end of the day you’d be a FOOL to vote for any other candidate & I think you know that!

  • Sartinmyline

Why was this junk written? What more can this President do to stop the foolishness of writers like you?. Sound like you are saying Yasa Master, I can write dirt on him too!!!!!!
