Missing Black Teen Was Mistakenly Deported

According to the grandmother of a teen missing since 2010, the girl was mistakenly deported to Colombia.

The girl was 14 when she ran away after experiencing a great deal of stress over the divorce of her parents and the death of her grandfather. The girl’s grandmother, Lorene Turner, said she had been searching for her granddaughter on Facebook since her disappearance.

“Once I get home I am up until 3 or 4 in the morning searching and looking,” Turner said.”It’s all I can think about. Finding my baby,” she told WFAA-TV in Dallas.

With the help of the Dallas police, Turner found her granddaughter Jakadrien – in Colombia. Apparently U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had deported Jakadrien in April of 2011.

“They didn’t do their work,” said Turner. “How do you deport a teenager and send her to Colombia without a passport, without anything?”

It seems that after running away from home, Jakadrien made her way to Houston, where she was arrested for theft and then gave the police a fake name. When police ran the name, they discovered that it belonged to a 22 year old illegal immigrant from Colombia who had several warrants.

Although ICE took the teen’s fingerprints, they didn’t do the due diligence required to confirm her identify and deported her. The Colombian government released her after giving her a work card.

“She talked about how they had her working in this big house cleaning all day, and how tired she was,” said her grandmother.

After turner tracked down her granddaughter using Facebook, U.S. Embassy officials helped track her down. But the teen is still locked away in a detention center in Colombia and there is no date set for when – or if – she will be released.

ICE says it is investigating the matter.

This retard inspired and insanely “racist” immigration process with its highly ridiculously and atrocious act against a young US citizen is only the tip of the iceberg in what appears to be a process in preparation, or work-in-progress as it were, of much more human shuffling and purposely committed “error” deportations. People will continue to shrug these seemingly [little] mistakes off as just human error, but that is how and why worse activities will more than likely be nearly overlooked as thousands will be caught up in the same such horrid “government” intentions.

I submit that we can prepare to be shocked in the years ahead, but because of the strange way the mind of the average citizen works it won’t be enough to shock most into reality. Why? Because most of us have never known true reality! We have been born and raised in a totally contrived environment! A world created by our “benefactors” or more like “captors”! What seems just fine to you is not the reality of someone else. If your life is filled with peaches and cream, just remember that you exist in a vacuum, a low percentage of feel good people with happy lifestyles.

The bigger picture (worldview) and the truth of reality will not shock you out of your fantasy because fantasy is a part of the existence here in the “American Dreamland”!

The only thing “government” has to do with it ,is allowing laws to be enacted with out the process that we call democracy..no one reads up on the changes that affect Americans until the affectations hit home..drugs werent a “problem” in some neighborhoods until the elite found their children werent just dabbling in the drug market ,they were swimming in it . Then it became a National Epidemic. Inner city drug dealers dont have the resources to bypass Customs, DEA and local LEOs without help from very affluent backers..do some more research..who in Harlem,USA has a plane or boat to smuggle?

I totally agree with you! Much to my dismay I saw Obama sign away our constitutional rights. Now anyone at any time can be detained indefinitely as long as the say National or terrorist threat! Obama hire one of the heads of Monsanto to head the FDA. Monsanto controls the worlds genetically modified corn seed market among others and we still have no idea of the harm it is doing to us and they don’t even have to let us know in what products they are using it so we can make informed decision about the food we eat!!!!!

Kerrikon4, I agree with you. She could have stopped the whole thing by finally telling the truth when she knew she would be deported. But she knew she would be in trouble for lying to the police. She should thank her lucky stars she is still alive and not dead in a poppy field. But when she returns she will probably have a book deal waiting for her, along with a parade and key to the city.

as for her not speaking the language —makes no difference many people have come to the u.s. from abroad not aware that they are not citizens until they are older-entering college or trying to get gov’t identification-license or passport—as parent did not make them aware they were born elsewhere — some do not speak their own native language —but can still be deported as they are not citizens- no matter how many years they’ve lived/worked in u.s.-you can even have a social security # and not be a citizen.

Thats why some states are pushing for undocumented immigrants not to be eligible for drivers licenses-as they are not legally here-lack social security # and do not contribute legally(tax-wise) to the economy.

while she was only 14 she traveled to another state- was able to get by until caught for theft- and even when arrested gave false information and in all this time did not try to contact the family—according to live news feed – she stayed in columbia was working and did i hear she is currently pregnant? Once again never tried to contact family–the grandma found her through extensive search!

It’s funny how the grandparents always take the responsibilty of their children. Why don’t we see her parents talking about this? That’s the sad situation in this and many other stories today. Let by the kids games and phone to keep them busy but don’t teach them a damn thing about self respect and responsibility for their actions.

Before Obama we supposedly had good relations with our ally Colombia and I can only hope that we still do, but in a sense it is both Jakedrien and our Immigration Departments fault as they acted hastily based on the false information they were given. Now of course she is in a foreign country with an entirely different beauracracy & timetable. I’m just amazed that she was located at all. I guess if immigration can drop the ball on deporting Obama’s illegal relatives for years on end they can also over-react and rush in the other direction.
Now of course, immigration is rushing to approve new immigrants to this country.

Forget the deep discussion. We all know what happened – now take action. Under the circumstances revealed, I think the appropriate action is to contact your elected officials, regardless of what their ideology, and ask your person to get involved in bringing this young sister home. Write letters to newspapers (local and national), call radio talk shows – do whatever it takes to put pressure on those in the state department who are empowered to do whatever is necessary. The people who dropped the ball want it to just go away. We need to hold people accountable otherwise she will just rot there feeling no one cares. Do you care?

I’d bet money that the arresting officer knew she wasn’t Colombian but decided to teach her a hard lesson for lying. I’d also bet that once they told her she was being deported, she shouted her real name and begged not to be deported. The failure to run her finger prints was probably intentional too. So sorry Jakadrien. I do pray you’ve learned your lesson and will be a better, stronger person for this experience.

She is a teenager who is hurting over the pain she believes her family has taken her through, she is not stupid she is a child scared and the crazy part is she must have met the person who has that name and she just used it, and sadly it got her landed in the last place I know no one wants to be. Colombian authorities reported today that two other minors, identified as Malia and Sasha, are also under custody. The kids allege to be Washington residents whose supposedly influential parents are too busy to notice their absence. Since there’s a sizable segment of the Colombian population whose ancestry is African, nobody has taken them seriously: everybody assumes they simply were up to an adventure in continental Colombia far from the island of San Andres where the locals speak pidgin English. Any clues?

In my opionion what baffles me is that she knew she was being deported so why did she continue with her lie? She should have told the truth and none of this would be happening to her. So whether she is black, white, asian, or polka dot she knew she had gotten herself in over her head. The problem now with the slow release is she is a Colombian citizen and neither side knows the truth. And to add to it, her deportation was not to teach her lesson but the fact that she said she was Colombian (foreigner), ICE did their part of deporting her because that is their job. She was finger-printed so the ball was dropped, but to ICE she was here illegally. Bottom line she could have stopped all of this if she told the truth. But to her this is funny. We give teens way to much rope to hang themselves in the name of young adulthood.

It is about time we realized that the younger generation is the pool from which we must choose our future doctors, lawyers, pilots, etc, and above all, those healthcare givers that must take care of us when/if we get to the Nursing Homes. If we continue to give them way too much rope to hang themselves in the name of young adulthood, without teaching them the needed responsibily early in life, we would have nobody to blame but ourselves.
People, let’s wake up and face the reality. Remember that whether you lived and raised your kids in suburban or the inner city, Nursing Home, if you get there, is an equal opportunity employer.
