Gossip Queen Wendy Williams got a surprise shout out, or calling out, from Oprah Winfrey this week. Oprah wanted to set the record straight on Wendy’s speculation that Gayle King was leaving to join the CBS Morning Show because she’d fallen out with Oprah. In the letter, Oprah made it clear to Wendy that there are no hard feelings with Gayle and that she wishes her the very best in her move to CBS.
The letter stated that: “I know there’s been some speculation that Gayle and Oprah had a falling out because Gayle will be hosting the new morning show on CBS. I wanted to make sure everyone knows that there is only happiness for Gayle and this wonderful opportunity.” It concluded with a smiley face and was signed “Love, Oprah. P.S. Stay Black!”
It is well-known that Wendy Williams has always been considered Oprah’s ghetto baby sister in the world of media. Oprah runs everything, Wendy runs about one-tenth of that. But that’s the way it’s supposed to be, and Oprah is making it clear that she’s the boss.
