Why would Perry be considered the most powerful man in Hollywood ? Because he can make substandard and non funny productions that a lot of Black People like ?

Is he more powerful that Spielberg , or Spike Lee even ? I am sure the Writer was engaging in hyperbole the only question I have is why so many Black People like his poorly acted, poorly written, non funny take on the most mundane aspects of Black Life ( ” better watch out Madea is gonna get you for cheating on your Wife ) delivered by mostly B-Actors ?.

I found it difficult to watch the TV Shows , or the Movies for more than five minutes . His Madea character is done so poorly it looks more like a Drag Queen than a Woman.

One thing that Perry proves though is money and success can come without talent .

Whether he got his seed money from the Street is irrelevant as his empire was built on monies derived from ticket and advertising contracts .

altha I guess what I wrote was over your head . Only people with no manners choose to attack people on these blogs instead whose opinions they disagree with .

I guess it may be hard for you , but try to share an idea , or a useful opinion , or shut up if you have nothing to offer the community .

I suppose you are too slow to understand that people have a right to critique art which is what I did .

People who hide behind a meaningless term like “Hater” obviously cannot express themselves otherwise .

@Vincent Brown;I noticed you did not mention anything about the black gangster movies/themes played over & over in main stream theaters with the same disgust you have towards Tyler’s movies.   Granted, there were a few Spike Lee flicks & good flicks with blacks in it, BUT black gangster flicks were overdone.  Soooo… when Tyler Perry’s movies & plays came along with themes about relationships, family, husbands & wives, and madea; black women (his fan base) embraced it with OPEN ARMS!!!  And for the record, many in entertainment business can do with and upgrade, fine tuning or improvement including Tyler Perry projects.

Actually most of what we see proves that money and success can come without talent. The movies and tv shows are mostly trash without any creativity and depth. I would not call Spike Lee any one to admire really because his focus is on himself and not giving blacks any job opportunities. If you notice all the white buffoonery in movies and tv shows, people complain but still watch.  You rarely see them attacking each other. Also, it is rare to find anyone who has risen above obstacles in their lives to achieve great status and money, without questionable activities in their past.
