Alarming: NYC Schools Arrest One Child Per Day, 93% are Black or Latino

new york city schools arrest one child per dayIt looks like the school-to-prison pipeline is now in full effect.   The New York Civil Liberties Union is sending out red flags after it’s been determined that at least one student is arrested per day in New York City schools, with that student almost always being black or hispanic.   The NYCLU refers to the data as reflective of “over-policing” of black and brown children.

    If they are doing the crimes, they are supposed to be arrested.  They color is no matter at all.  These numbers show all that the black and brown children are much more likely to be acting in a criminal manner.  So how is that anybody’s fault but they own?  It is time for black and brown children to learn to follow the rules.  The police are not just pointing to random children to arrest in the schools.  They are pointing to the ones who commit crimes.  This is not abnormal, it is how the system is supposed to work.
