The pulpit is a long way from the Player’s Club.

Actress Lisa Raye McCoy, best known as stripper-with-a-heart, Diamond, in the urban classic movie, Player’s Club, has the streets—and the congregations—on fire (and brimstone) with the rumor that she’s dating prominent LA Bishop Noel Jones, founder of Noel Jones Ministries and brother of Grace Jones.

His mega-church, City of Refuge, often sees mega-stars in its pews, and we’re quite sure many of them have seen a slide in the polls (Ok, that was the last one), but the idea of Lisa Raye dating a pastor is simply the most hilarious on-dit we’ve heard all day.

      How do YOU know whom  Bishop Jones is dating?  Personally, I don’t believe the RUMOR.  I’m a member of the Bishop’s congregation, therefore I think I know him better than you.  He has worked too long and hard and established his credibility and earned the respect of too many people to throw it all away for a cheap, trampy woman.  He’s got too much intelligence, character, and substance to fool around with the likes of Lisa Raye.  And no, I’m NOT being judgmental!  As Bishop Jones oftens says, “I’m just fruit inspectin’!”  In other words, you can tell a tree by the fruit it yields.  And from what I have seen and heard of LisaRaye, there’s nothing spiritual or decent about her.  A woman needs more than looks, money and fame to impress a man like him.  Furthermore, I’m not a hater.  I just know class when I see it.  And, Lisa Raye may have a lot of money and been exposed to the finer (material) things of life, but that does NOT make her a class act.  Nothing personal.  I just calls ‘em as I sees ‘em!!

        Your comments are on point and you are definitely telling the truth.  And, no – you are not being judgmental.  When does stating the facts judgmental?  I cannot or will not fathom someone of Bishop Noel Jones’ character could even remotely coincide with that of a Lisa Raye.  There is an unequal yoke between the two.  I fully support your thoughts on this story.  If Ms. Raye could stay away from the salacious reality shows and stop showing parts of her anatomy with her attire and start exhibiting some class and elegance as a beautiful woman, then, and only then, can she be considered a decent match with the likes of a Bishop Noel Jones.

          Really.  Do we really know Bishop’s character.  I love his ministry dearly but we don’t know what he does when he goes home.  Many of our pastors struggle with this pedestal that we put them on…and we don’t let them just be human.  God bless him and Lisa Raye.  Her job may be an open book but what do we know about her.

    What is unreal is we believe God can change us and we preach this and we speak this but what is even sadder is so many godly so call saints so call christians are being so negative.       I am not being judgemental but with him being a pastor I think that he should of gotten someone equal to him or wait at least until she allowed god to come into her life fully.       I’m glad he didn’t pick someone that church people would think is his match because often times that is what leads people to divorce. She is a beautiful woman true but being an actress is her job. If I were to go on your job some wouldn’t be acting so holy.     First of all it is NO SECRET that Noel Jones is an alcoholic, womanizer, and tormented manipulative man..I dated him for 3 years, and cut his butt off after I realized it was all a front….He has varicocele(twisted veins in his testies) and has a hard time when urinating and bleeds. He is a public success and a private failure.     Noel Jones, as are many mega-preachers are entertainers. If we were not entertained by them we wouldn’t be spending our monies to feed, house, clothed and transport these “entertainers”. If this is his girl friend that would be his choice. The difference between the pastoral entertainers is that they demand your tithes, request further for donations and gifts all in the name of God. The entertainers outside of the pulpit put on shows and you choose to buy a ticket or not or watch them on TV or not.

    “Black” People we are not a community, we are not together, we don’t genuinely love each other and we cannot protect each other. So many of us follow fictitious beliefs and do just the opposite of what these falsely created control devices dictate.     I remember her interview with Bishop T. D. Jakes on Lisa Raye Reality Show. She stated that she needed sex. .Unless she has changed her mind about waiting…… I hope the Bishop is not in an adulterous relationship.
