All Teenagers Ages 16 to 18 Will Be Tested for HIV

Do you remember when the only reason your parent wanted to know if you were having sex was to decide if you needed condoms or birth control pills?  Well, whether or not your teenager is having sex or wants to talk about sex, some doctors plan to require that all teenagers are tested for a STD and HIV.  Why?

According to CNN, “upwards of 70 % of new HIV infections are caused by people of all ages who are unaware of their HIV-positive status. Roughly one of every two HIV-infected adolescents don’t know they’re positive.”

    While I’m not for invasion of privacy, I do support something that would likely stem the tide of rising std infection and possibly out-of-wedlock births among youth in our community.
