Herman Cain Says Racism is Not a Factor in Black Economic Inequality

Herman Cain says racism isn't a factor in AmericaHerman Cain has continued to make his interesting statements with regard to the African American community.  This week on CNN, he said that racism isn’t a factor when it comes to economic inequality in America.  So, does that say anything about black people, their culture and their work ethic?

“Presidential candidate Herman Cain said Sunday that he didn’t believe racism was a major factor holding minorities back in America, asserting instead that African Americans had a level playing field on which to advance economically.

“I don’t believe racism in this country today holds anybody back in a big way,” Cain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Are there some elements of racism? Yes. It gets back to if we don’t grow this economy, that is a ripple effect for every economic level, and because blacks are more disproportionately unemployed, they get hit the worst when economic policies don’t work. That’s where it starts.”

Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, said educational disparity and geographical separation were to blame for high unemployment rates among African Americans. Jobs numbers released Friday showed the unemployment rate among African Americans standing at 16.0%, while the total national unemployment rate remained at 9.1%.”

There are so many African Americans and people of color who are ashamed of their black and colored skin they think that to be racist is a way to be accepted by the White race. However, because of their stupidity they are disliked by those with sense.

  • Slam

This Negro need to be tarred and feathered!!   i’m just saying…

    • Anonymous

Slam: Mr. Cain really needs to shut-up because he doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about on the subject which has been raised by said author.
Stokely, C. was once told me that every Negro has the potential to become a BLACK PERSON… but Mr. Cain is in dire need of help. Can anyone help this brother?
      Thank you

      • Conleec

What exactly would help him? Do you want him to be a failure instead of a tremendous business success? Will that help blacks in the future? Good f’ing thinking guys. Jesus H Christ, I’ve never heard so much stupid bullshit in my life. What do you want for the black youth of this country? More people like Mr. Cain? Or more people who complain and hold a hand out to the government for a handout? What the fuck, man? Where’s the pride in that? Personally, the more of this crap I hear, the more I realize that Mr. Cain is right: the black community IS brainwashed. Sorry, just calling it the way I see it right now.

          Man you are both a dingbat & a nerd………..

        • Anonymous

Conleec: Mr. Cain has already been a sucess and he has lived the American Dream.
The Black community is no more brainwashed than the white community on a whole litany of subjects. To suggest that the the enitre Black community is brainwashed shows your bigotry and lack of knowledge and understanding of the problems that are germane to the Black community.
When I said that Stokely once told me that every “Negro has the potential of being a proud Black person” I thought you were a Negro.
Do you know any people who were educated on the Government GI Bill or who bought a home on the GI Bill or use the Vets in purchasing a home loan? Are those the government handouts that you were speaking about.
Do you know any farmer who is accepting government money not to grow a certain type of crops? That’s your tax dollars buddy!

The farming industry receives more government handouts than any other segement of the population. I have a friend who use to be a Asparagus farmer in New Jersey, and now he just sitting on his ass collecting our taxpayer dollars not to grow asparagus because the U.S. government under Geo. W. Bush said it would be good politics to import more of our asparagus from South America or the Andean Basin countries. That Bush policy basically killed the Asparagus Industry in this country, and thousands of good paying American jobs.
I made a commitment that I don’t buy asparagus from Bolivia, Columbia or Mexico. We still have a few American growers but you can count them one hand thanks to your boy Geo W. Bush.
I could go crop by crop and show you how abusive our agriculture culture has become
          .
These government handouts to the great farmers of this country give an appearance of being fraudulent which has been very pervasive and wide spread going back to days of that  D- rate actor Ronald Wilson Reagan.
I would agree with you that there shouldn’t be any type of State or Federal government assistance across the board in Housing, Education, Unemployment Compensation, Veterans Benefits and Health Care.
I also think that the Congress should break-up the U.S. Postal Service, and give citizens the right to choose who the hell they want to carry their mail. Right now the U.S. Postal Service/Office has a monopoly on carrying personal mail, and I have taken the position that we need more competition in this arena to lessen the overall cost on the taxpayers in sending any type of mailing items.

I think any lay-offs that would result from the dismantling of the U.S. Postal system that those employees should receive a 10 point preference while applying with a new Postal Coroporations.
Its the free competition that has made America the envy of the entire world.

Your being an inbred conleec, acounts for your stupid comments you’ve learned to express from your trailer….home schooled.

        • didIaskyouthat

According to your logic, all whites should be a success, because they see images of successful white people.  Because they see so many of the images none of them should be poor.  As for you, I’m sure you are one step away from Bill Gates, or at the very least, the next big pizza guy OWNER.  Just, calling it the way I have always seen it, when I hear white people talk about the magic of black role models.

  • LIZ

Herman Cain is a total moron just like those inadequate imbecille Republicans.  He just wants to be in the news to gain a little power.

  • NYSDIVA

Racism & Nepotism are holding qualified African Americans from getting jobs. I hate when black politicians refuse to state the obvious or play it “safe” when it comes to discussing racism to appeal to causian voters.

  • NYSDIVA

Most Republicans don’t blatently say they are racist, they just express and implement it in thier politics.

  • nysdiva

And why should we expect a different answer from Cain, since he’s the modern day Clarence Thomas clone?

    • Aaron

True, I agree with you 100%. Clarence “uncle” Thomas is being protected until after the elections, regarding the monies he and wife’s collected, trips and rides on the yacht. They’ll throw his dark a$$ under the tractor when they’re finished with him.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L7ONMGPITX2AX7HEXKFV56TZOU JellyBean

Like others have already stated; Do you really think that a black GOP member was going to actually come out and say that racism was a major factor holding minorities back in America? Me neither.  Herman Cain is not like Colin Powell. Mr. Powell understood the legacy of racism in American and, hopefully, would not have made such a silly response like Mr. Cain has done. But knowing that this is politics and Mr. Cain is trying to win votes and portray himself as the likeable Negro, I don’t give him a pass on his comments. He should be called on those comments.

It is people like the Cain and Clarence Thomas who make it hard for everyone else. They got into the club from the help, sweat, blood, tears, and on the  backs of others. But when we ask for their hand in help back, they turn their back on us. They act like they got into the club all by themselves! And that is what I don’t like.

    • Anonymous

You do realize that Martin Luther King Jr was a GOP member? And that the Democratic party is the party of the KKK? You should lookup the wikipedia article on the KKK… if you are black and vote democrat – you have been had.

  • Anonymous

If Cain, do not beleive that racism is a factor in high unemployment among African American, try reading the last study, done by the Employment Agency, that stated that
employers , most would rather high a White High School Drop out, than a Black with two years of college. But what do you expect from Herman, the Monster

    • Conleec

Holy shit, man. Take a chill pill. How, EXACTLY, is preaching a positive message, backed up with quantitative and qualitative success, a THREAT? Just explain that too me, please. Is it better to tell black youth that they should stand in line for a handout at the government trough, or that they can achieve something with their lives if they really work their f’ing asses off? It ain’t easy for anybody. Probably it’s even harder for blacks. But you know what? It sure as hell isn’t impossible, because Mr. Cain and others like him are living proof!

I say listen to the message a bit more. Listen to the man. Perhaps, just perhaps, it will start to resonate and people can start feeling good about themselves again. We have to get this country out of the ditch that Obama’s put us in. Never have we been at each other’s throats with so much class warfare rhetoric until Obama started throwing it around recklessly.

All of us Blacks should get together and crash on him ….Because the media is not going to do it because he is playing their tune…..
He need to be stop right now…………

    • Conleec

Wow, Olin. When did you become such a hater? Would you REALLY stop a well educated, successful black man from preaching his message? And why would you do that? Because you don’t want other blacks, particularly the youth, to see that it’s absolutely possible to achieve great things in this country if you apply yourself? I just don’t get it.

BTW, there’s a poll out today showing that Herman Cain would get 14% of the black votes. The brainwashing is starting to come undone already, and Mr. Cain hasn’t even gotten the nomination. Yet.

      Cain 2012!

Wow & OMG, Cuntleec how long have you been in the KKK ? So I guess you think because he is well educated that automatic eliminate him from being a brainwashed house nigger…….Would you vote for him if he was nominated…….Would you allow him to joint your Klan……..Most Polls are run by corrupt hoodlums…..There are plenty of Blacks who are much more successful.than uncle sambo and they didn’t have to lick a white man a$$ to be successful……….Blacks with master degrees are a dime a dozen you dumb dimwit….
You know why you just don’t get it??? Because you are a retard plus a thicko……….
And why are you over here in this Black neighborhood …….anyway….?

        • Anonymous

exactly, brother. some people seem to think that someone can’t be a fool even though they have a degree. it’s called an educated fool. but it’s useless talking to these types because they haven’t had to deal with the struggles that many of us have had in our lives as a result of dealing with this KKK society.

      • Aaron

        Wow Conleec:
Your response is indicative of your trailer-trash, outhouse residential influence.
They (Gentiles) never wanted President Obama, he took them by surprise, what makes you think they want that stupid 9,9,9? He’s an A-B and so are you!

      • Adebayo

Conleec, you always make extreme, baseless, and illogical statements each time you comment on issues bordering on race, Herman Cain, or regarding President Obama. Black youths are not ignorant, and they do not necessarily need to see or hear Herman Cain to realize that they can succeed in life. Before Cain’s emergence on the National political and business spectrum, other black people had blazed that trail. Mr. Cain despite his years of involvement in politics is a relative newcomer on this level. He is neither the first, nor will he be the last black person playing on National stage. If anyone has provided great inspiration to black youth in this country and the World over to reach for greater heights, that person is President Barack Obama, not Herman Cain, and never will be Herman Cain. I know this fact is unsettling to you, but that’s the gospel truth.

You say there’s a poll out today showing that Mr. Cain would get 14% of the black vote, whose poll was it? Not that it matters, but you should provide your source for verification. I recall dismantling your ignorant rants not too long ago in another thread about Cain’s business success which you touted as his qualification for the Presidency. Do you recall that interaction? Only astonishingly stupid people define or understand success to be limited to wealth, business ownership, or position of influence, or personal riches. In your warped mind, success equals money and position in corporate America. While I do not begrudge anyone’s financial success, I must inform you that success in business or a background in business is no assurance of success in public office let alone the highest public office in the Land. The economy may be the pressing issue on the public’s mind at this time, but running a country/government is not the same thing as running a pizza business where a CEO makes decisions almost unilaterarily with no congress, or powerful special interests on all sides all weilding significant political arsenal to derail his decisions. 90% of what goes on in government is politics, and no President makes economic decision unilaterarily. He consults with adversers, teams of experts, stake holders, business leaders, etc, just like President Obama is currently doing and catching flake for it still.

Furthermore, if Mr. Cain’s only qualification for the Office of President is his success as CEO of Godfather Pizza and his wealth, then he is less qualified than many black hip hop artists. Not to diss Mr. Cain, according to Forbes Magazine, his personal wealth stands at $18 million dollars. Pretty impressive, but chicken change compared to P.Diddy’s $500 million Net worth. Also, according to Forbes, Russell Simmons’ net worth stands at $500 million, and that’s even after divorce. Most importantly, these two men and several other wealthy black enterpreneaurs made their money building their own business empires from bottom up. Mr. Simmons for instance is co owner of Def Jam, and creator of Phat Farm. What independently owned business can Mr. Cain boast of? What company has Mr. Cain established on his own that has employed 10 black people with benefits at any given time? None!!!!! Mr. Cain, while his success is not to be discounted, made his money working dedicatingly on the white man’s plantation. Yes, he deserves the success he earned, but using your measuring stick to judge success which according to you, qualifies one black man over another, then Mr. Cain would NEVER qualify. Jay Z, 50cents, Master P, Mo Money, Lil Bow -Wow, Lebron James and co would make fantastic and much better Presidents than chump change Herman Cain. Besides, talking about many black kids seeking inspiration from ‘successful’ black men, those kids are more inspired by the names I just mentioned, NOT by Hermna Cain. Their other great inspiration? President Barack Obama. Now pass out if you like.

Little black thugs [brainwashed by gangsta rap and the like] harassing black students who want to learn ["act white"] have done more to hold blacks back than white racism.

Chris Rock “war tween blacks and nxxgas” UTube video is the best commentary on the “race problem” I’ve seen to date.

  • Paul L.Covington

I am confused by Mr. Cain’s comments because for the past 73 years I was taught and believed that educational disparities and economic deprivation were direct consequences of racism. Have I been misled, or is Mr. Cain not to be taken seriously.

  • Tibbsj

Herman Cain is the Uncle Tom that wants to be Uncle Sam.

  • Anonymous

It’s amazing to see so many black racists turn on Cain.  Uncle Tom?  Seriously?  The man is far more qualified than the “One” who made “history” (at our expense).  I would like to see how it works when a man who has actually built a business gets into the top seat instead of one who just talks a good game and hires radical retreads to tell us how to live.  Who else thought Obama would do something about sentencing disparities and marijuana laws?  Instead he did just like Clinton and made it worse.  Obama has set us back.  Let’s see if another way works please.  And let’s lose this BS about blacks who actually DO something instead of favoring those who are all words.

If Herman Cain says, “I Did not Believe Was a major factor racism holding back Minorities in America, African Americans asserting instead that had a level playing field on which to advance economically.

Mr. Cain never lived in this country or ignores completely the history of the African American community. He thinks because his status is high in relation to the rest of blacks, His wellness is the reality of others disadvantaged black people living in this country. Mr. Cain To our knowledge he never did anything for the young people of the black race, the difference between him and Dr. Martin Luther King from heaven to earth.
