Hank Williams’ Jr. isn’t letting the end of his relationship with ESPN get him down. After comparing President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler, and proclaiming the POTUS and Vice-President Joe Biden to be the “enemy,” ESPN issued a statement announcing the end of the “All My Rowdy Friends” era.
Williams isn’t going quietly into that good night, though; instead releasing a new song that blasts FOX News and ESPN for “twisting his words around.” The lyrics include such highlights as:
“I’ll keep my freedom, I’ll keep my guns/Try to keep my money and my religion too … Keep the government out of my business/ and y’all can keep the change,” Williams sings.
Williams, a staunch Republican supporter, is selling “Hank Jr. For President” shirts on his website.
Even after issuing an apology, ESPN decided that as much distance between accusations that the President of the United States is on par with one of the most notorious, violent dictators the world has ever seen might be best. Williams’ song introduced Monday Night Football for 21 years on both ESPN and ABC. He is scheduled to make the talk show rounds, appearing on “The View” and “Hannity” on Tuesday to air out his grievances.
