Percy “Master P” Miller, founder of the New Orleans based, “No Limit Records,” is claiming that he does not have enough money to pay crew members from the film, “Uncle P”, an independent 2007 film starring Miller and and marijuana smoking comedians, Cheech Marin and Ken Jeong.
In 2003, a judge mandated that Miller compensate the crew $240,000 after they sued him for non-payment. The mogul ignored the order, and the same crew brought suit in Los Angeles Bankruptcy Court. TMZ reports that this time they’re seeking a lot more than the original $240,000.
At the height of his career, Miller’s financial worth was an estimated $661 million fortune. Even though “No Limit Records” changed the Hip-Hop landscape of the 90s, he is most recently known for his philanthropic efforts. He and his son, Romeo—who recently was in the news for proposing to Disney tween star, Demi Lovato—have created a basketball camp for inner-city youth in high crime and poverty areas. The father and son duo also donated computers to Audubon Middle School in Los Angeles, one of the lowest performing schools in Los Angeles Unified School District. The school’s API score raised 77 points in 2011 as a result of the generous donation. In addition, his hard work to help the citizens of New Orleans post Hurricane Katrina often goes unnoticed.
We’re rooting for you here at YBW, Master P! Hopefully, you can pay the crew, and continue the good work that you do.
