Drugs Found on Megapastor Who Was Found Dead in Times Square

“A white powdery substance” was found to be on the body of 42-year old megachurch pastor, Zachery Tims, who was found dead in his hotel room in Times Square this week. Law enforcement officials have confirmed the substance to be drugs, but are still withholding the cause of death.

Tims was the head of an 8,000-member church, the New Destiny Christian Center, in Orlando, Florida. His body was found in the W. Hotel. It was discovered by a working who was trying to check the minibar in his room, who then found that the room was latched from inside. Tims was found inside the room lying on his back between the bedroom and living room.

My condolences go out to those who loved him. However, I must say that this story makes me angry. Tims appears to be yet another in a long line of religous figures who led/leads an entirely different life than what he sanctimoniously preaches to others about from the pulpit. He was a divorced father of four, and apparently, his 2009 divorce stemmed from his admitted year-long affair with a stripper. I’ve said it before in other posts, but things like are what keep me out of church.

It’s an insult to the congregation (and to God, I believe) to live such a radically different lifestyle from what you pretend to, and then just go right on preaching, ministering, etc. even after you are exposed (abusive Catholic priests, Eddie Long, Ted Haggard, etc).

How did you get the news that it has been confirmed as drugs but no other paper or news source has been able to confirm it? What kind of drugs was it? Did he use them? Why are you posting speculation as news? How do you know he wasn’t carrying a special kind of coffee cream? News you can use? No News gets abused.

what!! something is not smelling right with this whole thing. I respect everyone’s post, everyone has the right to freedom of speech, specialism and criticism so respect mine when I say I think its a set up, I believe the TBN and his ex plays a part in this (SCANDAL) just speculating, they are taking to long to release information, If they find what they think is drugs on the street, they test it right away I see it on COPS all the time. He may have started out being a false prophet because he was hanging out with TD JAKES and the whole TBN klan, but when they fired him, and he bought his own church and doing very well in profits, the TBN klan and scorned EX may have gotten jealous. How come all of a sudden his X comes to the church and told his followers they went on a trip together a week before he died, she wanted them to praise her and put her in charge of the church thats why she keeps putting a hold on the results from toxy, soon as they elect her back in the church, thats when the results will come out that he supposedly OD. Again just speculating.

His X went on a trip she ask him to go on with her, just to get his hopes up on getting back together because she sees how much money he is making (she did not think he would be prosperous after she filed for divorce she thought he would fall then, but that did not happen, so she mad. So he may have changed his ways after the affair may have tried to get his wife back but shes a so called woman of God would not forgive him, so he moved on and put his heart and soul into his ministry. They used his past that he openly talked about with drugs and injected it in his system then put the bag in his pocket..its that simple. It’s going to all come out one day THE TRUTH.
