Rihanna and Lady Gaga have been going head to head on the social networks. That is not to say they are engaging in verbal combat, but they are competing for popularity. Currently, Rihanna is winning on the Facebook front. The Wrap News reports, “The ‘Rude Boy’ singer has overtaken the “Judas” chanteuse to become the most popular female star on [Facebook].” The Wrap News proceeded to say that as of July 15th at 1:22 p.m., “Barbados-born singer Rihanna amassed 40,622,133 ‘likes’ for her Facebook page, edging out Gaga, who lagged with 40,580,102 ‘likes.’”
When it comes to Twitter, however, it appears Lady Gaga’s fans are showing her more love, with Gaga having 11,653,916Twitter followers. Rihanna merely has 6,116,687 followers. The Wrap News also states that “according to Famecount.com’saggregated rankings, [Gaga is] still tops among celebrities when her combinedFacebook likes, Twitter followers, andYouTube views are taken into account. Rihanna ranks third behind Gaga and Justin Bieber.” Based on the stats and her latest stage performances, however, it looks like it won’t be long before Rihanna meets up with and perhaps even leaves Gaga in the dust.
