It appears that the obvious may be starting to take place. Vanessa Long, wife of Bishop Eddie Long is apparently planning to leave her husband. At least there are reports that she’s moving out of the house and taking her child with her. Various sources are stating the following:
Well-placed spies for The Mo’Kelly Report and long-time members of New Birth are alleging that Vanessa Long, the First Lady of New Birth has moved out of the house, in fact taking one of the children with her due to the scandal.
Even if his wife leaves him, Eddie Long will still have plenty of friends. Fellow pastor Creflo Dollar recently stated that he believes Eddie Long already has a ticket into heaven. Also, there is the mysterious woman who walked onto the stage and handed Bishop Long a stack of money that would put a drug dealer to shame.
Ever since Long was accused of sexual coercion by four young men in his care, the black church has been forced to ask itself tough questions. Some argue that a sin is a sin, whether it is telling a fib or sleeping with underage parishioners of the same sex. There are others who believe that Long should speak up and tell the truth about what happened. Thus far, there is nothing but silence.
