One-Year Old, Malnourished Baby Found Dumped in a Suitcase

Police are saying that a 14-month old baby died of “nutritional neglect” before she was put into a suitcase and left in a nearby trash can. Tania. R. Coleman of Erie, PA is currently being held without bail as a result of the crime. The 20-year old is pregnant with two other girls, aged 2 and 3 years old.

The Erie Coroner’s Office says that the remains of the child were “in very poor shape,” and there are no obvious signs of trauma.

“It would appear that the evidence would support finding that the child was neglected for a period of time and left to die essentially in that house,” said Erie County District Attorney, Jack Daneri.

Police argue that Ms. Coleman and her boyfriend, 19-year old Xavier A. Hollamon, tried to hide the baby’s death by removing the body. He’s been charged with concealing a death, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. Coleman has been charged with child endangerment and criminal homicide.

The body was noticed by firefighters, after the suitcase had washed down the street during a rainstorm. A neighbor took the suitcase out of her trash can after Coleman and her boyfriend allegedly left it in her trash.

“I’m sure that garbage can smelled awful, and that’s why she dumped the suitcase out on the street,” said Darlene Justka, 51, a neighbor. “Now I know there was a little baby in there. It’s so horrifying.”

I would kick her up her azz..Dont you people know about birth control? This woman is twenty years old with two children, 3 and 4..Then she had a fourteen month old, and pregnant with another child on the way, so at the age of twenty this woman have four children..What the hell was she thinking of? Does she still think she’s on a slave breeding plantation? This idiot for a boyfriend is only nineteen years old and is probably in the illegal trades business…You cant take care of your three children, but you’ll open your damn legs and make another..She is the type that needs to be steralized so she will not produce anymore children..I hope they throw the book at her and her idiot sperm doner..I feel bad for those children left behind who are starting out life disadvantage, and will most likely be raised in foster care…

My prayer goes out to not just her but the women we don’t know about who are in as worse shape. Today some of our young people seem to think sex is a quick fix for their emotional instability. Its not. Sex was meant to be between a husband and a wife. When we alter from God’s commandments things like this untimely death are the results.
