A 51-year old Houston man confessed to shooting his girlfriend on Sunday, along with her 20-year old son. Sherry White was killed this weekend by Jeffrey Prevost, who now faces two counts of capital murder. White and her son were found dead in their home by relatives after they’d not heard from them for three days.
“I had to break in through the back window,” said John Elder, a relative. “I didn’t see her, but I found my little cousin at the door.”
The family suspects that White was going to end her relationship with Prevost. Authorities are claiming that the murder was driven by jealousy.
“It’s just hard to believe that she’s not going to be here anymore,” friend Audra White said. “Her or her son.”
Both victims were shot in the head, and the mother was also stabbed. White’s son Lavergne had graduated high school and planned to be an airplane mechanic. Prevost is being held in the Harris County jail and has a history of violence. He’d served a 20-year sentence for assault.
